An american official with Kansas State Capitol.
The Kansas State Capitol is the state capitol building of Kansas. It is located in the state capital of Topeka. The building is home to one of the largest capitol domes in the United States - even surpassing that of the United States Capitol.
The land for Capitol Square was donated by Cyrus K. Holliday via his Topeka Town Company in 1862. Construction began during 1866 and took 37 years to build at a cost of $3.2 million. Today that figure would not even buy the marble floor. The building was placed on the National Register in 1971.
