Maldives

Happy 2012!! May this new year bring many new cards into our mailboxes :D I'm looking foward to see which cards i'll have tomorrow in my mailbox!! But for now, i still have lots of 2011 cards to show.

One of the last cards to arrived was this one from the Maldives, one of he many cards sent by Emerich.

Maldives has deep blue seas, turquoise reefs, white sandy beaches and palm trees. It is also a place full of character, where its people have long spent their days languishing in the very essence of idyll living. Maldives

I'm sleepy but, finally, this is the last card sent by Emerich. After the czech and polish cards, now i've this one from the Maldives with a typical boat from the Maldives.

"Dhoni is a multi-purpose sil boat with a motor or lateen sails that is used in the Maldives. It is handcrafted and its use within the multi-island nation has been very important.

The traditional dhoni is one of the oldest known sea vessels in the Maldives. Many of these traditional sailing vessels were, of necessity, built using coconut palm timber. The sailing dhoni was used in earlier days by Maldivian fishermen. During the industrial revolution many fisherman changed to a mechanized dhoni." - in: wikipedia

Maldives

I finally have cards from the Maldives, a new country. I got these thanks to Sumie from Japan.

The 1st card shows the Malé Atoll and the 2nd starting from left top: Vilingili Reef, Mayaafushi, Rasdhoo Atoll, Laviani Atoll, Kuda, Bandos, Nakatchafushi, Ihuru, Baros and Kuredu.
