February Alternative RR (I)

For the 1st time in these monthly RR's, i've received all the cards and all my cards have been received. I'll try my luck again another month.

Ristna Lighthouse on the Kõpu Peninsula, Hiiumaa Island, Estonia. Height from bottom 30 metres, light altitude 37 m. The lighthouse was put into operation in 1874. It was prefabricated in France and designed to use innovative technique at that time.

The card was sent by Rita "sirelid".

Alessandra, the host of this RR, sent me a card of Saratov main cathedral, built between 1855-1858.

Missouri's Rush Hour

This is not my 1st card from Missouri but i don't have many cards from there. It was sent by Kristen "glisten" who requested me a trade.

Capital: Jefferson; Area: 69,686 sq miles; Population: 5704484; Motto: Let the Welfare of the People be the Supreme Law; Flower: Hawthorn; Bird: Bluebird; Tree: Flowering Dogwood. Missouri was admitted to statehood on August 10, 1821. The origin of the name Missouri comes from Indian syllables meaning "ownwers of big canoes".

Black Kettle National Grassland has about 30,724 acres and is located near Cheyenne, Oklahoma. The grassland provide valuable feed to local ranchers, so is common to see cattle grazing when visiting the grasslands.

Emas National Park - Brazil

This card was a surprise from Déa and it made my day because its from a missing brazilian Unesco site, Emas National Park.

The Emas National Park is a national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Sitein the states of Goiás and Mato Grosso do Sul in Brazil.
Emas National Park shows a typical cerrado ecosystem; a treeless savannah with tall termite houses and an interesting amount of wildlife: the giant anteater, the maned wolf, giant armadillo, pampas deer[1] and the namesake greater rhea, among others. Emas National Park also holds a small Jaguar population, perhaps consisting of about 10-12 animals. Only about 40% of the reserve, which covers 1320 square kilometres in total, is good Jaguar habitat. Other larger mammals include puma, ozelot, Brazilian tapir, collared peccary, white-lipped peccary, marsh deer, red brocket, gray brocket, black howler monkey and capybara. - in: wikipedia

Cuzco & Arequipa - Peru

The last 2 cards sent from Jusseli are from Cuzco and Arequipa in Peru, both classified as Unesco World Heritage Sites.

Cuzco is a city in southeastern Peru. Cuzco was the site of the historic capital of the Inca Empire and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO. It is a major tourist destination and receives almost 2 million visitors a year.

The card shows Cuzco Cathedral and the Iglesia de la Compañía de Jesus (Church of the Society of Jesus), both located in the Plaza de Armas.

Arequipa is the capital city of the Arequipa Region in southern Peru. The historic centre of Arequipa was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000, in recognition of its architecture and historic integrity.

The Monastery of Saint Catherine (Spanish: Santa Catalina) is a monastery of nuns of the Domincan Second Order, located in Arequipa, Peru. It was built in 1580 and was enlarged in the 17th century. The over 20,000-square-meter monastery was built predominantly in the Mudéjar style, and is characterized by its vividly painted walls. There are approximately 20 nuns currently living in the northern corner of the complex; the rest of the monastery is open to the public. - in: wikipedia

La Paz - Bolivia

Nuestra Señora de La Paz is the administrative capital of Bolivia and the second largest city in the country. It is located in the western part of the country in the department of the same name at an elevation of roughly 3,650 m (11,975 ft) (the city is built on steep hills) above sea level, making it the world's highest "de facto" capital city, or administrative capital.

As it grows, the city of La Paz climbs the hills, resulting in varying elevations from 3,000 meters to 4,100 meters (9,840 ft to 13,450 ft). Overlooking the city is towering triple-peaked Illimani, which is always snow-covered and can be seen from several spots of the city, including from the neighbor city of El Alto. - in: wikipedia

San Pedro de Atacama - Chile

San Pedro de Atacama (San Pedro for short) is a small village located in one of the many oases which are founded in the altiplano of the second region of Chile.
Along this geographic zone rise some of the highest volcanoes of the Los Andes cordillera.
Formerly the center of the Atacama culture, today San Pedro's population is about 2.500.
