This is a RAS card sent by Helena "leninha". She went to the Salt Fair in Aveiro and sent this card with the Aveiro salt ponds.
The salt ponds are located in the west and north of Aveiro, on a ground with about 1300 hectares.In 1949 there were 253 salt ponds working, only 49 were in full activity in 1994 and, nowadays, only 20 are still operating.
The satues represent the people responsable for the salt harvest.
