Alva and Douro are two portuguese rivers. The Alva is a tributary of the Mondego river and it springs from the high altitude (1425m) in the Serra da Estrela, Portugal's highest mountain in mainland. Douro is one of the major rivers of the Iberian Peninsula, flowing from its source near Duruela de la Sierra in Soria Province across northern-central Spain and Portugal to its outlet at Porto.
